Grammy Award winning singer Lauryn Hill was sentenced to three months in prison on Monday, and an additional three months in home confinement for failing to pay taxes on about $1 million in earnings. Hill pleaded guilty last year in the case. Hill explained that she always meant to eventually pay the taxes but was unable to during the period when she dropped out of the music business.
The Armed Citizen Project, like its name connotes, proposed over the weekend that they hope to arm citizens by giving them shotguns, to protect from criminals. Their aim is reportedly to give out shotguns to people in fifteen cities throughout America, including in Chicago.
24-year-old Buford Rogers, of Montevideo Minnesota, was arrested on Friday, and charged with one count of possession of contained Molotov cocktails, suspected pipe bombs and firearms. He is charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
