A strong earthquake hit a remote and largely rural area in southwestern China's Sichuan province on Saturday, which killed at least 156 and injuring about 5,500 people. The earthquake, the worst in China in three years, happened in Lushan county near Ya'An city whose epicenter had a depth of 12 km, or 7.5 miles.

A foreign government told the FBI in early 2011 about information that Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the brothers suspected in the bombings, was a follower of radical Islam.

Boston authorities in Watertown, Massachusetts captured Dzokhar Tsarnaev, an ethnic Chechen and naturalized American citizen, who was said to have been taken to an area hospital in serious condition, apprehended at approximately 8:45 on Friday evening.
