Prosecutors, led by Juan Martinez, tried to convince jurors that Jodi Arias should be eligible for the death penalty, saying Travis Alexander suffered tremendous pain as he fought for his life while Arias stabbed and slashed him nearly 30 times. The trial resumed with a new phase to decide whether Arias should be eligible for the death penalty. Columbia University is seeking to change the terms of the Lydia C. Roberts Graduate Fellowship that was originated in 1920. The 90 plus year fellowship has stipulated that money be given only to "a person of the Caucasian race."
