After an article released by Sunday Times titled "How Guptas shopped for new minister," ANC deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte responds and denies accusations. The article alleges the Guptas and Duarte to have offered Deputy Minister Mcebisi Jonas the position of then-finance minister Nhlanhla Nene. These were made even more controversial as Sunday Times reported that the Guptas gave conditions along with the offer, such as the support for the nuclear procurement programme.
