Samsung has finally pushed out the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 under US Cellular. Biggest mobile carriers in the United States like Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T are expected to follow suit.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 under US Cellular have finally been updated to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The carrier is first to release it on Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy S6 units. Verizon was first to roll out Marshmallow on Galaxy Note 5 while AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint still have to release it. Meanwhile, Sprint is the first to roll out Marshmallow on Galaxy S6 while Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile still have to release it.
As expected, the Marshmallow update comes with powerhouse mainstays Doze, runtime permissions, Now on Tap, and fingerprint support, among many others.
Per screenshots revealing the interface circulating online, Samsung is up for a good and serious makeup to its consumers. The company brings changes to the notification menu and power menu, a new look to the TouchWiz, plus fingerprint support for third party apps.
While the mobile tech brand remains a stiff competition these days, Samsung is up on its chin by bringing notable features with Marshmallow aside from the native ones.
Beta version of Marshmallow had been released first to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units in the United States late in January 2016. Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 were the first two phones to undergo the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow by mid-February 2016.
With Marshmallow, Samsung brings in the enhanced edge screen and new edge screen features. Said to be faster and more convenient, the company brought the phenomenal curved screen to a new level, boosting it from 260 pixels to 550.
In terms of its usability, the edge panels offers easier shortcuts to information and tasks with quick access which can carry up to nine panels, including People, Apps, Tasks and more.
