Samsung Galaxy Note 4 owners under Sprint are glad to finally receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow via official over-the-air (OTA) update. Sprint is the first carrier to release such update on Galaxy Note 4.
Sprint has finally rolled out the official OTA update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 units which had begun last March 23. Being the first carrier to release such update, other mobile operators are slated to follow the carrier's move.
Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Sprint is expected to end on April 8, 2016. It brings Google and Samsung security updates as well as bug fixes. Aside from Galaxy Note 4, other devices of Sprint getting same update are Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, and Galaxy S6 Edge. Galaxy S6 was already updated since last week.
In Sprint's community forum, excitement of device owners are all over that finally their phones will be able to experience what the software has to offer. However, there are also some who lamented as early as now on the performance of Marshmallow on the device.
So far, two users commented that the update is worst in history and they are not happy with it due to glitches in text messaging. Nevertheless, they hoped that Sprint will attend to this matter as soon as possible.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with the new and updated features in battery management, connectivity, user interface, apps, controls and security, among other aspects.
Google developers have devised an innovative way to wisely control battery consumption. A power saving feature called Doze will automatically put the phone at rest when sensed idle. Even when the phone gets totally drained when owners is asleep, alarm will still set off. With App Standby, it controls the impact of apps seldom used to prevent from battery drain.
For Sprint update, its very own Global Roaming feature will allow device owners to use the phone even when out of the country.
