An Israeli security guard shot and killed a fellow Israeli man in Jerusalem, beside the Western Wall, one of Judaism's holiest sites, Reuters reported. The site was immediately shut to visitors following the shooting.

Federal authorities said that they cracked an international gambling ring calling itself Macho Sports, whose customers would place bets with bookies, by phone and online services. Authorities allege in the indictment, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for Southern California, that the illicit gambling company curried a "violent reputation" for its use of "intimidation, threats and violence."

James Gandolfini, best known for his role on the HBO's "The Sopranos" portraying an anxiety-ridden mob boss died Wednesday while on vacation in Italy. He was 51. His managers indicated it was possibly a heart attack, but the exact cause of death was not known.
