The slaying of three deaf women in Haiti prompted human rights and advocacy groups for the disabled to stage public protests over the vulnerability of disabled citizens in the country. Jesula Gelin, Vanessa Previl and Monique Vincent were brutally murdered in Cabaret, Haiti on March 19, 2016.

An Egyptian police official filed a complaint against Reuters for its report on the death of an Italian researcher. Reuters reported that Regeni, the researcher, was detained by Egypt police official before he went missing, a claim that was denied by the officials.

Father Rene Robert's body was recovered in Waynesboro on Monday. The priest was missing for more than a week and was last seen on Orange Park Medical Center.
