The university officials confirm that they received a call at the specified time, however claim that it was a seven-second silent call.

According to reports, the NYPD identified Empire Building shooter as 58-year-old Jeffrey Johnson, a former designer of lady’s accessories at Hazan Imports, who was laid off last year in the company’s attempt to downsize. Johnson apparently upset about losing his job opened fire at his former supervisor Steven Ercolino, the company’s Vice President. According to reports Johnson shot Ercolino three times in the chest and the head.
