President Barrack Obama visited Aurora, Colorado to meet with the victims and families of Friday's movie theatre massacre, where 24-year-old, James Egan Holmes opened fire during a mid-night screening of the Dark Knight Rises killing 12 people and injuring 70.
In addition to meeting with the victims and their families, Obama delivered a speech at the University of Colorado Hospital saying, "I confessed to them that words are always inadequate in these kinds of situations, but that my main task was to serve as a representative of the entire country and let them know that we are thinking about them at this moment and will continue to think about them each and every day, and that the awareness that not only all of America but much of the world is thinking about them might serve as some comfort," as reported by dcist.com
President Obama joined Aurora residents in not mentioning the shooter by his name and merely referring to him as Suspect A.
Aurora residents continue to hold vigil and mourn the 12 people shot down on that fatal event and the other victims, many of whom are being treated for serious injuries in the hospital
At mid-night on Friday, Holmes entered a packed Aurora movie house, where Dark Knight fans gathered to watch the screening of the highly anticipated movie. Holmes dressed as one of the movie villains Bane, sporadically shot at people in the packed room.
Colorado police arrested him later Friday morning and immediately took him into custody. Police found his apartment to be inundated with ammunition in addition to being booby trapped.
Holmes faces his first day in court on Monday.
