Presidential Elections: Romney “Appreciates” Obama

By

At a Sunday fund-raiser, Republican nominee for the 2012 presidential elections, Mitt Romney told the crowd that he appreciates President Obama's visit to Aurora Colorado to pay respects to the victims and families of the Friday night movie massacre.

"I know the president will be there before he'll be here in San Francisco visiting with families and the victims, which is the right thing for the president to be doing on this day. I appreciate that," according to CNN.com

It was a rare occasion of praise amidst persisting pre-elections animosity between the two candidates.

Romney too begun the event paying respects to the victims and their families by sharing a moment of silence and then begun by stating "Our hearts are with the many people who have lost loved ones in Colorado and other places, but particularly we are thinking of the people in Aurora, Colorado, and the tragedy that occurred there, the senseless killing there," according to CNN.com

At mid-night on Friday, Holmes entered a packed Aurora movie house, where Dark Knight fans gathered to watch the screening of the highly anticipated movie. Holmes dressed as one of the movie villains Bane, sporadically shot at people in the packed room.

Colorado police arrested him later Friday morning and immediately took him into custody. Police found his apartment to be inundated with ammunition in addition to being booby trapped.

Holmes faces his first day in court on Monday.

On Sunday, President Barrack Obama visited Aurora, Colorado to meet with the victims and families of Friday's movie theatre massacre, where James Egan Holmes opened fire during a mid-night screening of the Dark Knight Rises killing 12 people and injuring 70.
