Former standout NBA guard and ex-Rutgers assistant coach Eric Murdock has filed a wrongful termination suit against the university claiming that the institution ignored his warnings - and videos, which showed basketball coach Mike Rice punching, kicking and belittling his players. As the Scarlet Knights' former director of player development, Murdock expressed his concerns to university officials only for them to fire him, according to the lawsuit claimed against the school in state court on Friday.
Trayvon Martin's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, have settled a wrongful death claim for an amount thought to be more than $1 million against the homeowners association of the Sanford subdivision where their son was killed, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The Martins' attorney Benjamin Crump filed their paperwork at the Seminole County Courthouse, a portion of which was made public on Friday.
A man fatally shot another man, then killed himself at a day care center in Gatineau, Quebec on Friday. All 53 children were safe and unharmed, and police would not say whether any had witnessed the killings, Gatineau Police Chief Mario Haren said.
