Democratic New York City Assemblyman Vito Lopez has announced that he will resign at the end of the legislative session in June, amid a sexual harassment scandal. Lopez, who denies harassing his underlings, said he was stepping down in order to run for City Council in November.
The drifter, Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, better known as Kai, who became an Internet sensation just a couple months ago after a bizarre incident in Fresno, California when he used a hatchet to "save" someone who had just crashed into him, has been arrested. New Jersey police said that Kai is responsible for a deadly beating of a New Jersey lawyer.

Attorneys for Jodi Arias asked to step down from the case after their client was convicted of first -degree murder, but a judge denied the request. Attorneys Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott reportedly asked a judge for permission to withdraw from the case, but were denied.
