Venezuela's fiery and controversial socialist president Hugo Chavez who came to power on wave of popular sentiment and befriended some of the world's most notorious dictators, has died at the age of 58.

The Garland, Texas police department fired officer Patrick Tuter for killing an unarmed suspect, shooting at him 41 times following a car chase last summer. Tuter claims that he feared for his life while pursuing Michael Vincent Allen.
