A patron was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting outside a nightclub inside Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, police said. The suspect reportedly got into an argument with club security at Drai's Nightclub, demanding his cover charge be returned, but the security refused him.
It was then the suspect, who has yet to be identified, pulled out a gun. Las Vegas police said at least three people were shot, as one patron was killed by gunfire, while the manager and security guard were wounded by gunfire. Another security guard was possibly shot and injured, police said.
Two people died and two were injured Monday morning after a shooting at Sparks Middle School near Reno Nevada, news reports said. The shooting happened on the school's campus, police said one student was reportedly transported to an area hospital, and the shooter was declared dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, news reports said. The shooting occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m.
Aaron Alexis, the Navy Yard shooter responsible for killing 12 people last week, lied about a previous arrest and failed to disclose thousands of dollars in debts when he applied for a security clearance in the Navy. Federal investigators had dismissed the omissions, all the while deleting any reference to his use of a gun in the same arrest.
