The United States Capitol was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after a woman tried to ram a car into the White House gate, and was then chased by Secret Service, exchanging shots with police.

President Barack Obama blamed House Speaker John Boehner for the government shutdown, which did not show any let up in its third day, The Associated Press reported. In addition to the House Speaker, Obama also blamed a small group of conservative Republicans who want "to extract concessions in exchange for passing a short term spending bill that would restart the partially stuttered government."
Jessica Dishon was 17-years-old when she disappeared from her home in Bullitt County, Kentucky, and 17 days later she was found beaten and strangled to death in a wooden area, UPI.com reported. It has been 14 years since, and the culprit of her murder has not been charged.
