Megyn Kelly: Fox News Host Debates Panelists About the Role of Working Moms in America (Video)

By

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly slammed two panelists - and the network's regulars- Lou Dobbs and Erick Erickson on Friday over the pundits' supposedly 'sexist' pronouncements about working mothers and the "decline of the American family," Salon reported.

In a segment hosted by Dobbs on Wednesday, Erickson called female breadwinners "anti-science," "bad for kids and bad for marriage." The host said that the rise of female headed households and single mothers are both "troubling" developments, in seemingly antiquated language not befit for today's jargon. The all-male panel on Wednesday's show was in agreement about the deep danger posed to society by women working full-time.

Juan Williams said it was "something going terribly wrong in American society, and it's hurting our children, and it's going to have impact for generations to come."

Fellow guest Erick Erickson said it was a downright repudiation of nature itself.

"When you look at biology, look at the natural world, the roles of a male and a female in society, and other animals, the male typically is the dominant role. The female, it's not antithesis, or it's not competing, it's a complementary role. We as people in a smart society have lost the ability to have complementary relationships in nuclear families, and it's tearing us apart."

"Why should we take your word for it, Erick Erickson's science, instead of all of these experts?," Kelly asks.

Kelly's rage against two of her colleagues was matched by fellow Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren who wrote on her blog just a day earlier, "Have these men lost their minds? (and these are my colleagues??!! oh brother... maybe I need to have a little chat with them (next thing they will have a segment to discuss eliminating women's right to vote?)"
