39-year-old Brooklyn resident Menechem Stark was kidnapped and murdered late last Thursday, and his partially charred body was found in a dumpster at a Getty gas station in Great Neck. Stark was accosted by two people who dragged the father of 8 Hasidic man into a "2006 or 2007 Dodge Caravan, on Rutledge St." Stark was found just before 4 p.m. last Friday.
"Every day over the past 12 years, I've awakened thinking about how to make our city stronger and safer, healthier and greener, freer and fairer, more just and compassionate, more innovative and forward-looking, with more opportunity for all," said outgoing New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in his final radio address. "On Wednesday morning I will wake up and smile, knowing that we did everything we could to achieve those goals."
27-year-old Kourosh Keshmiri, a convicted drunk driver who allegedly crashed a car into a California home on Sunday killing a man while sleeping, was charged with murder on Monday, as reported by CBS Los Angeles. The Mission Viejo resident is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Tueday.
