Authorities said that skeletal remains ere ound in an old Studebaker believed to be tied to the 1971 disappearance of Cheryl Miller and Pamella Jackson, two 17-year-old girls in South Dakota.
Judges in the Hague upheld the 50-year jail sentence of former Liberian President Charles Taylor for aiding murderous rebels in Sierra Leone's civil war in the 1990s. The 65-year-old Taylor had been found guilty by the Special Court for Sierra Leone on April 26, 2012 of 11 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity including terrorism, murder, rape and use of child soldiers.
The postal Board of Governors said Wednesday that it wants to raise the price of a first-class stamp. The rate proposal must be approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission. The increase would become effective on January 26, if the commission accepts it.
