'XXX 3', or 'XXX: The Return of Xander Cage', is an upcoming action film intended as the third film in the action series starring Vin Diesel. Director DJ Caruso posted a behind-the-scenes photograph of Diesel's co-star Deepike Padukone, which showed the actress ready to strike in a full outfit of leather and tattoos.
According to Mid-Day, Caruso shared a new photograph of Padukone's Serena Unger on his personal social media account. The Bollywood actress is set to co-star with Vin Diesel on the upcoming third installment in the 'XXX' action series. Not only is Padukone Diesel's latest love interest, she is also a fierce female character that has her own share of action scenes.
The new image showed a menacing Padukone clad in leather separates looking like the action star in thigh high boots and temporary tattoos. The photograph was captioned, "After the slate. I felt sorry for this stuntman. Serena unleashed!#xxx3 #xandercagereturns Dominican here we come." According to India Today, actress went through rigorous physical training in preparation for her new role in the upcoming film.
According to another article by Zee News, Padukone sweated it out under trainer Yasmin Karachiwala's guidance as she will be portraying a fierce huntress who is also Xander Cage's former lover. Karachiwala already trained several Bollywood actresses throughout their careers including Katrina Kaif for the movie 'Tees Maar Khan'.
The Indian film actress and model is one of the most popular and highest paid celebrities in Bollywood. She has established herself in her home country's film and entertainment industry, starring in several blockbuster hits as well as receiving multiple awards for her work. Padukone will be making her Hollywood debut in 'XXX 3' and has been busy filming with Caruso and Diesel since the beginning of the year.
Other cast members include renowned martial artist and action choreographer Donnie Yen, Thai martial artist and stuntman Tony Jaa, Oscar-nominees Samuel L. Jackson and Toni Colette, as well as television actresses Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose. John D. Francato, Michael Ferris and F. Scott Frazier wrote the screenplay based on the characters created by Rich Wilkes.
