Several LG phones are set to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow this month: the LG V10, G Flex 2, and G Stylo. Google is reportedly testing Android N on LG devices.
LG is still in the process of seeding Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its devices with the help of 5 carriers namely, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, and US Cellular. Morning News USA reported that several LG devices will be getting Marshmallow this March such as the LG G Flex 2, G Stylo, and V10. It was reported that LG V10 users in Turkey and South Korea are getting Marshmallow as part of LG's testing phase. It seems that the update for the LG V10 is yet to be released worldwide.
Meanwhile, the LG G Flex 2 is still in the queue to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Just like the V10, the G Flex 2 is expected to receive Marshmallow this month.
Sprint has already released the Marshmallow update for the LG G Stylo in December 2015. On the other hand, T-Mobile recently rolled out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to subscribers.
According to a previous report by Lawyer Herald, one of first LG phones to experience Android 6.0 Marshmallow was the LG G4. Sprint and US Cellular have both released Marshmallow to LG G4 handsets beginning December last year. LG G4 users subscribe to other major U.S. carriers were able to upgrade to the Marshmallow software last month.
It was reported that only Verizon has released the Marshmallow update to LG G3. Other carriers are expected to follow this March. Meanwhile, the LG G2 was spotted in a benchmark test rocking Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Samsung is still mum on the official rollout date of Marshmallow to the G2.
As for the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow version, only the latest LG flagships have received it at present. These are the LG G5 and the Nexus 5X.
It seems that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will soon have a successor in the form of Android N. Yibada reported that Google released a developer preview of the Android N (Preview 1 edition) to selected LG devices. However, it seems that the LG Nexus 5 has not received the Android N Developer Preview 1.
Android N is expected to be unveiled this year at the Google I/O conference. It will then gradually roll out in phases to Android devices just like Marshmallow.
