Xiaomi unveils Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition along with Mi Powerbank Pro in China

Xiaomi has fibally unveiled the Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition, the updated version of the Mi Box 3 media player. This device was released in China along with the company's newest power bank, the Mi Powerbank Pro.

According to Tech2, the Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition is armed with a faster processor. This device is engineered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT8693 with a hexa-core CPU (2 x 2GHz Cortex-A72 + 4 x 1.6GHz Cortex-A53) that is paired with a PowerVR GX6250 GPU. The CPU performance is said to be 80 percent faster while the GPU performance is 240 percent faster than the standard Xiaomi Mi Box 3.

NDTV Gadgets noted that the Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition is packed with a 2GB RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage. The Wi-Fi connectivity got some improvements too, supporting 802.11ac 2x2 with transfer speeds of up to 300Mbps and Bluetooth v4.1.

On the software front, it runs MIUI TV, which is based on Android 5.1. The Chinese tech company claims that its set-top box can run 10bit video files in H.265 codec for as high as 4K screen resolution at 60 frames per second. The Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition also supports Dolby and DTS Sound.

Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition has already gone through AnTuTu benchmarking. As a matter of fact, Xiaomi stated that "All of us like to compare a device's performance by using AnTuTu. Mi Box 3 Enhanced edition scored up to 66,016 which almost doubled the Mi Box 3." Aside from the enhanced CPU and GPU performance, the Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition now includes a cooling system which automatically adjusts the speed of fan.

Additionally, International Business Times stated that aside from the Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition, the Chinese tech company also unveiled its later power bank, the Mi Powerbank Pro. This device has a battery capacity of 10,000mAh and it has support for USB type C charging which can be used to charge the Xiaomi Mi5 and even a MacBook.

The Mi Powerbank Pro can also power up accessories like Xiaomi's Mi Band fitness tracker and even Bluetooth in-ear headphones. Since this power bank is equipped with an 18W ultra-fast charger, it takes only three and half hours to fully charge the power bank. The Mi Powerbank Pro also shortens the charging time of any device by 40 percent.

The Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition is currently available in China and is priced at 399 Yuan approximately Rs 4,100. Meanwhile, the Mi Powerbank Pro is tagged at 149 Yuan, approximately AU$31.
