Xiaomi has started rolling out the stable MIUI 7.2 ROM firmware to its Mi 5, Mi 4S and Mi Note Pro devices in China. The Chinese tech company also confirmed that this software will be released globally soon.
According to Android Headlines, Xiaomi has released the MIUI 7 back in October last year, and the company has started seeding both Chinese and International versions of this OS. After a couple of months, the Chinese tech giant has introduced MIUI 7.1, and has started pushing that variant of the OS to devices a couple of months ago. Now, the time has come for MIUI 7.2 as Xiaomi has presented the all-new version of MIUI on its official website.
As a matter of fact, International Business Times noted that Xiaomi confirmed the MIUI 7.2 China stable build is now rolling out. It further added that from now on, many of its users should be able to progressively receive the update over-the-air (OTA) on their phones via the Updater app. They can also manually download the ROM packages provided on its official MIUI blog.
The MIUI 7.2 is reportedly on its way to the Chinese variants of Xiaomi MI 5, Mi 4S, MI Note Pro, Mi 4c, Mi Pad, Redmi Note 4G (Single SIM) and Redmi 1S, and more devices will start obtaining this update on March 9th. Other handsets slated to receive the firmware include the Xiaomi Mi Note, Mi 3, Mi 4, MI 4i, MI 2/2S, MI Pad 2, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 4G (Dual SIM), Redmi Note 3G, Redmi 2A and Redmi 2.
Moreover, Xiaomi has listed all the changes that its latest ROM brings and N4BB stated that one of the most important new features in MIUI 7.2 is the ability to easily move files to a new Mi device with the Mi Mover app. The new firmware by the Chinese tech company also brings an improved Find device app, and a customizable Wallpaper Carousel. A sew improvements to the Lock screen, Status Bar, Notifications bar, and Home screen animations were also added while Apps such as Music, Backup, Weather, File Explorer, Cleaner, Mi Drop and Mi Cloud, have been updated with bug fixes and optimizations.
Despite Xioami's rollout of the firmware, it had refrained from revealing if MIUI 7.2 is based on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As of the moment, only the company's flagship Mi 5 smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, while the rest of the devices have Android 5.1 Lollipop.
