Aside from the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS that equips the Xiaomi Mi 5, Inferse reported that there have been speculations that the Chinese tech giant would launch a version of the Mi 5 running Windows 10 Mobile. Nevertheless, it is not yet confirmed by the company and not yet known if it will come up with a version running the Windows OS pre-installed or will work with Microsoft to launch a custom Windows 10 Mobile ROM.
For reference, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet was released carrying two OS's: the Windows 10 and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Microsoft has also released a Windows 10 ROM for the Xiaomi Mi 4 and it was noted that flashing the ROM was a simple process. Users of Mi 4 will just have to head to Xiaomi's forums, download the flashing tool and ROM and follow some instructions. The entire process doesn't take more than a few minutes to complete.
Aside from the Xiaomi Mi 5, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3 are also expected to have a Windows 10 Mobile ROM or variant. Nevertheless, these weren't greenlit yet by both companies, so it is advised to be taken as a pinch of salt for now.
