The Asus ZenFone 3 is rumored to launch at COMPUTEX 2016 with VR headset. PC-Tablet said thatthe flagship device will be unveiled sometime in the month of June, although others reported it may come either in May or June. The launch event is expected to be held in Taiwan. The phone has two versions, Asus Z010DD and Asus Z012D, which appeared in a benchmark test done by GFXBench.

The device may come with a Virtual Reality headset by the third quarter of 2016. Asus seems to have partnered with a hardware manufacturer to design and develop a virtual reality headset similar to Microsoft's HoloLens that works with the ZenFone 3 smartphone.

Asus' ZenFone series has significantly contributed to the 2015 earnings of the company. Now, the company plans to continue the market success of its ZenFone line of budget-range phones with the coming of the ZenFone 3 smartphone. Asus will offer its flagship device with cutting-edge features to their customers at an affordable price. There is no specific price designated yet for the ZenFone 3 but consumers might expect it with a price below $300.

Christian Today pointed out that the company hopes to keep up with its competitors in the global market by introducing new and innovative features, such as the virtual reality and augmented reality support. Asus Chairman Jonney Shih revealed in an interview that other features include USB Type-C connectivity and fingerprint scanner for above-average biometric security.

Along with its new features, leaked specs of the ZenFone 3 reveal a Snapdragon chipset, 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front- facing snapper, 5.9-inch or 5.5-inch HD display, internal storage of 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB, Android Marshmallow OS, and a battery capacity of 3,500mAh to 4,000mAh with fast charging support. Users may also expect dual front-facing speakers on the upcoming smartphone.

According to Android Community, there could be new accessories released to partner with the ZenFone 3. Rumors point to a new ZenPower Duo power bank with 10,500 mAh, ZenTripod, ZenBeam mini projector, ZenFlash, Zenny Selfie Stick, LolliFlash, and View Flip Cover.

The company, however, remains silent on the integration of these notable features to the ZenFone 3 since it is still three months away from official launch. More information on the handset is expected to be revealed in March or April.
