Huawei could be gearing up to release another premium smartphone in the form of Huawei P9. According to Tech Times, the P9 could be available in 4 different versions - a regular P9, P9 Lite, P9 Max or Plus, and another more premium variant. It was reported that the high-end version of the smartphone will boast 4 GB RAM and a Kirin 955 processor.
More details on the Huawei P9 were revealed as alleged photos of the device were leaked online. International Business Times said that tipster Evan Blass shared images of the Huawei P9 touting a metal build and dual-camera setup. According to the leaked images, the P8 successor will have ultra-thin side bezels but abnormally large bezels on the top and bottom.
A slim glass cover encloses the Huawei P9 at the top. There are several reports saying that the device will have a native fingerprint scanner at the bottom and a USB Type-C port.
Tech 2 reported that the Huawei P9 will be camera-focused smartphone with its dual-camera setup. Its main cameras are rumored to have 12 MP sensors with Leica lenses. This feature will allow the phone to have better focus. The Huawei P9's cameras are believed to use laser autofocus and dual tone LED flash.
The Huawei P9 is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Its standard version could run on Kirin 950 chip and Mali-T880 GPU card. The upcoming phone could be equipped with a powerful 3,900 mAh battery and a 5.2" screen with 1080 pixel resolution.
Codenamed Eva, the P9 will join Huawei's premium P-line of smartphones. Users anticipate seeing the device launch on the first quarter of 2016. Other rumors say that the Huawei P9 will launch this month.
