Chinese phone makers HTC, Xiaomi, Meizu, and Oppo will possibly equip their next-generation Android phones with 3D Touch functionality display. Meizu confirmed that its Pro 6 flagship smartphone will have the pressure-sensitive screen.
Future Chinese Android devices are likely to sport 3D Touch screens. According to Android Geeks, Chinese phone manufacturers Xiaomi, HTC, Meizu, and Oppo will equip their devices with a pressure-sensitive screen similar to Apple's 3D Touch.
An anonymous source claimed that the next Nexus phone will bear 3D Touch functionality in its operating system. Rumors say that HTC will be the maker of the next Nexus phone. The tech community might see an HTC Nexus smartphone with 3D Touch function enter the market.
It is not surprising that HTC could be the next Nexus maker, since it has worked together with Google before in the Nexus 9. However, it is not yet known if HTC will be working alone on the device or partnering with Google. There are some sources saying that HTC will make 2 handsets this year - both possibly with 3D Touch display, reported Ubergizmo.
The Meizu Pro 6 is supposed to launch with 3D Touch display. Meizu's vice president said that this feature will be in the next Meizu flagship.
Meanwhile, GSMArena said that Google will integrate the 3D Touch functionality in the next Android operating system. Rumors suggest that the feature will be built into the Android platform for quicker adoption. If the rumors are true, 3D Touch will be present in Android N.
Apple equipped its latest iPhones with 3D Touch, allowing users to do more with just a prolonged tap. Several manufacturers, like Huawei, have followed Apple's example and equipped their devices with the same pressure-sensitive functionality.
