Samsung prepares to release its mid-range smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 (2016), in June. According to International Business Times, the devices have obtained a TENAA certification which indicates their imminent launch. Both gadgets have also passed the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Bluetooth SIG certifications. The specs and features of the Galaxy J5 and J7 (2016) have been revealed in the TENAA listing. The initial launch areas for both phones will be outside of China.
Slashgear said that the Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 (2016) look similar to each other. Both sport an elegant design and may feature a metal frame, similar to the casing of premium Galaxy phones. These Galaxy J5 and J7 (2016) might be the first budget phones from Samsung to feature metal bodies. However, some rumors say the back panels of both devices are removable and made of plastic.
Furthermore, the Galaxy J5 and J7 (2016) could have laser auto focus technology on their rear cameras, a first for mid-range Samsung smartphones. Both devices are expected to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. Hopefully, Samsung will make equip both phones with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Phone Arena said that the new Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) will have a 5.2-inch 720p AMOLED screen while the Galaxy J7 (2016) will sport a bigger 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display. Rumors say that the J5 will run on a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor. It could pack 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB expandable storage space, 12 MP main camera, and a 5 MP front camera. On the other hand, the Galaxy J7 (2016) is said to feature 4G LTE, a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front-facing camera with LED flash, 3 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage with micro SD card slot for expansion. The J7 could offer a 1.5 GHz processor and a battery rumored to be at 4300 mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) will be offered in a variety of colors, such as white, pink, and gold. Meanwhile, the Galaxy J7 (2016) might come in two models that will sport similar displays but different processors. One variant might be equipped with an Exynos 7879 octa-core processor while the second model could have an octa-core chip clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1.2 GHz.
