‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’: Michelle Rodriguez returns? Alice to battle new monsters, the Red Queen

'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' is an upcoming horror-action film in the live-action adaptation of the Capcom video games of the same name. It may feature the return of Michelle Rodriguez' character Rain Ocampo. It may also feature Alice's final showdown between Wesker or the Red Queen.

According to Fans Share, the upcoming sixth installment in the highly popular science-fiction horror films may feature the return of Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Ocampo. The series is based on the bestselling Capcom video games of the same name.

Rain was a member of the Umbrella Corporation's special forces unit and was later cloned for experimentation by the villainous Red Queen. She was first introduced in the 2002 film 'Resident Evil', which grossed more than $120 million worldwide.

Rodriguez was markedly absent in the subsequent films until her character reappeared in the most recent 'Resident Evil: Retribution', released in 2012. One clone, "Bad Rain", is commanded to hunt down Milla Jovovich's Alice while the "Good Rain" joins forces with Alice to help her escape the testing facility where she was held.

No confirmation has been made regarding Rodriguez' return to the franchise just yet. However, when a Twitter user begged for the return of Rain Ocampo, Jovovich replied otherwise on her personal Twitter account. She said, "...We finished the movie, so we can't bring anyone else back! sorry!"

Jovovich is set to star in the sixth and final installment together with Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Iain Glen, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy and Lee Joon-gi. According to Moviepilot, it may be possible that Jovovich's Alice may finally battle possible returning antagonists including the malicious Red Queen as well as Albert Wesker.

The Red Queen is a powerful master computer built to oversee and protect Umbrella Corporation's assets and officers. Wesker is a power-hungry and cunning man involved with the Umbrella Corporation. Both featured greatly as main antagonists for most of the films in the series.

It was also speculated that old and new monsters will also make their way into the new film in addition to the original zombies that made the series one of the leading zombie films in box office history.

'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' is an upcoming horror-action film written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. It is scheduled to be released on January 27, 2017 in the United States. It is the sixth in the long-running series based on the CAPCOM video games of the same name.
