The much-awaited and long-rumored HTC One M10 is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016. But just in case it won't materialize, other reports predict that this handset may be launched on April.
Vine Report stated that speculations about the launch of the HTC One M10 are gaining traction as the date of the event approaches. However, since tech giants like Samsung and LG have confirmed its participation in the Barcelona event, some fans think the Taiwan-based manufacturer may choose a later date to unveil its new flagship phone. The said event is expected to take place in London on April 11.
A renowned tipster named Evan Blass also took it to Twitter to share to his followers that One M10 will be hitting the US market shelves on the week of May 9th. If some possible buyers think the launch date is still far, he added "Small consolation, HTC fans: you'll be able to pick up the watch before the end of April."
When it comes to the specs and features, Ubergizmo reported that HTC One M10 will be having an improvement in the display department. Since many were disappointed with HTC One M9's Full HD display when its rivals had QHD displays, an upgrade for this part is expected. In fact, speculations claim that the HTC One M10 will sport a QHD display, though its screen size won't be too big of a change. Last year's model had a 5-inch display, and if the predictions are accurate, this year's model will only be going up in size by 0.1-inches.
As for its hardware, the HTC One M10 is expected to boast Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset just like the other upcoming android handsets. It could house a 4GB of RAM which is a slight increase over last year's 3GB, a 32GB of storage and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. However, it was noted that last year's phone ran pretty smoothly, so it is unsure if a 4GB RAM will be appreciated by users.
Camera-wise, it will feature a 12MP snapper called UltraPixel camera, but it is still unsure if this is the same UltraPixel technology that HTC used for the HTC One M8. The rear-facing camera is also reported to arrive with laser autofocus and is said to be made by Sony. On the other hand, its front camera will be of 5MP UltraPixel variety, courtesy of Samsung.
Aside from that, One M10 may sport a home button- a first for the One M series if implemented. This will double as a fingerprint scanner.
Meanwhile, Neurogadget claimed that HTC might not trail its naming of M series. With this, the successor of HTC One M9 will probably be named as HTC Perfume rather than HTC One M10.
Regardless of its name, patrons can expect the new device to be an impressive one. Apparently, the HTC One M10 is the company's attempt to cope with One M9's flaws. Nonetheless, this should all be taken with a grain of salt for now. Hopefully, the company will confirm or at least give hints of what to expect from the device soon soon.
