HTC is reported to be launching its upcoming flagship handset, the HTC One M10, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016. The company promises the handset's features and specifications to be different from its direct predecessor, One M9.
According to PC Advisor, Cher Wang, HTC's Chairwoman stated that the company would make significant enhancements in innovations and design for the next flagship model this year, suggesting there's no sign for anything to change when it comes to the release schedule.
The One M8 and One M9 were launched in early 2014 and 2015 respectively. With this there's no harm in assuming that HTC plans a launch of around March. Nevertheless, the company might take the opportunity to announce it at Mobile World Congress which runs from 22-25 February.
Furthermore, Day Herald stated on its article that HTC promised One M10 to be very different from the One M9. In fact, team of developers have worked very hard on enhancing the overall performance of the device and if all goes according to the plans, the HTC One M10 would surpass its predecessor in all angles.
The Taiwanese tech company is also reported to incorporate quite a few innovations to the flagship model. Two of which is the wireless charging technology and a different exterior composition. The original plan of having an all-metal design had to be scrapped since wireless charging is not compatible with metal-bodied smartphones.
HTC is also likely to upgrade the screen of the One M10 since most modern smartphones feature Quad HD displays. Apparently, the company wants to follow other smartphone maker's footsteps when it comes to this matter. The display is noted to be one of the most significant components of a smartphone, considering the kind of high-end technology used in most modern gadgets.
Meanwhile, Christian Post cited some of the predicted specs that the HTC One M10 might carry. The upcoming handset from the Taiwanese tech company is expected to sport an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 802 SOC that will be paired with 4 GB of RAM. Alongside a 32 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 200 GB via a microSD card slot, the HTC One M10 will also boast a 27-megapixel rear-facing snapper with optical image stabilization.
The upcoming smartphone will have a dual SIM card support, USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor, iris scanner, and wireless charging feature.
When it comes to price, it is rumored that the next flagship of HTC will carry a price tag ranging from $650 to $700. These are merely based on speculations and should not be taken literally though. HTC, however, will surely announce the specifics of the HTC One M10 as soon as the device is reportedly ready for its launch.
