The HTC One M10 has been all over the wire due to speculations about its release date, features and specifications. Now, the Taiwanese tech company is expected to launch the device at MWC 2016.
According to Christian Today, if HTC will follow the same schedule of flagship release, the much awaited One M10 could make an appearance next February, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona, Spain. The Taiwanese tech company is known to launch its premium flagship iterations at the annual event, starting with the One M7 back in 2013.
It is also reported that the upcoming One M10 will come out of the box with Android 6.1 onboard. However, there are talks saying that the Android 6.1 environment will come out in the middle of the year, so the feature reportedly coming out of the box for the One M10 may just be an unsubstantiated rumor.
International Business Times added some of the features that the HTC One M10 might have. The device is believed to sport a 5-inch screen with 4K or 2K resolution display and a 27-megapixel rear sensor camera packed with phase detection, auto-focus technology. Nowadays, capturing selfies is the current trend, so it may be expected for One M10 to have a bigger camera unit positioned at the front.
It is slated to have the Qualcomm's 82X with 3.X GHz octa-core processor, which will ensure performance at lightning speed. As of now, the Qualcomm 820 chipset is still on the early sample manufacturing stage. It will be given a go signal once it passes the testing phase.
Powered by a massive 3,500 mAH battery capacity, the M10 also has two powerful stereo speakers, a heart rate sensor and a touch ID scanner (fingerprint). New designs for the device with dustproof and waterproof certification are also expected.
Meanwhile, Phone Arena said on its report that HTC may choose a new name for its next flagship smartphone and that would be HTC O2, instead of the expected HTC One M10. But later in the year, talks suggested that the HTC O2 project has been scrapped and replaced with a new one, codenamed HTC Perfume. With this, It seems that HTC is either going to replace the "One M-number" moniker for its flagships, or work on a phablet variant of the One M10 to release alongside it which may be called One M10 Plus.
If the Taiwanese tech giant follows its schedule on releasing flagship smartphones, the HTC One M10 will debut on MWC 2016. As for its specs, the company hasn't uttered any word yet and smartphone fans will need to wait until it give concrete details about the device.
