LG Electronics Announces New Mid-Range X Cam and X Screen 'Specialist' With Android 6.0 Marshmallow

LG Electronics recently announced its 'Specialist' X smartphones, LG X Cam and LG X Screen, which run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware. These handsets are expected to make its first public appearance during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016.

Phones Review reported that LG recently announced its new X series phones; and rather than focusing on high-end phones, each one will be highlighting one particular feature. As noticed from its titles, the X Cam and X Screen concentrate on the camera and display experiences, correspondingly.

Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, according to The Inquirer, believes that everyone has a favorite smartphone feature. He said the company thinks that there's room for devices that having forte and that customers shouldn't have to pay for features that they don't want. Hence, LG Electronics is offering consumers more options.

Starting with the LG X cam, this gadget features a dual camera set-up on the rear and the South Korean tech company assures that the phone will offer an advanced camera experience. This device is armed with a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual cameras on the rear and a front-facing 8-megapixel shooter. LG has used 3D Bending Glass for its stylish curved finish on the front. X cam weighs just 118g and measures only 5.2mm at its thinnest point.

The LG X cam is powered by a 1.14GHz octa-core processor and it features a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution. It is packed with a 2GB RAM and a 16GB of internal storage. It has support for 4G LTE and is fuelled by a 2520 mAh battery. The X cam runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. With a full measurement of 147.5mm x 73.6mm x 5.2-6.9mm, the device comes in Gold, Pink Gold, Titan Silver, and White color options.

Meanwhile, the LG X screen sports very similar base specifications. This device is armed with a 2GB RAM, a 13MP rear-facing camera and 8MP front snapper combination. It is packed with a 16GB of memory and it has LTE support as well. Also running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it is fuelled by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and paired up with a slightly smaller 2,300mAh battery.

The big feature with the X screen is a secondary always-on display, similar to that of the flagship V10 model. The 1.76-inch ticker screen displays frequently used apps, battery information, and notifications, among other things. This display sits right above the main 4.93-inch HD display, as noted by Android Authority.

The LG X Cam and LG X Screen are expected to debut along with the South Korean tech company's flagship handset LG G5. These handsets from the 'Specialist' series will hit the market shelves on March.
