LG Electronics has released its list of handsets to obtain the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The LG V10 under the T-Mobile carrier is lucky enough as it was recently confirmed to receive the firmware soon.
According to GottaBeMobile, LG patrons are surprised as the South Korean tech unveiled the LG V10 last October. This device is bigger and better than the flagship handset, LG G4. The V10 is armed with more features, three cameras, two displays and a rugged design, earning praises from tech enthusiasts. Now, users are in for another good news as it is slated to get an OS update soon.
As noted by the site, Google released Android 6.0 Marshmallow on October 5th and many have been disappointed that LG V10 still runs Android 5.1. More importantly, the LG G4 already obtained the Android 6.0 in many regions around the globe. But now, users of LG V10 could rejoice as T-Mobile confirmed the Marshmallow update for this handset.
Tech Times added that T-Mobile hasn't started releasing the firmware update yet and it also did not mention as to when it will become available. Nonetheless, the carrier's updated status page now includes the LG V10 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the Manufacturer Development stage.
The Manufacturer Development is the first stage of the update process, as it's virtually the starting point where both the smartphone manufacturer and the carrier agree to support the software update. This means it is currently in the cards and will later go into carrier testing, before it will be rolled out officially to LG V10 smartphones under T-Mobile.
Aside from LG V10, there are other devices that are listed on T-Mobile's list of handsets to receive the Marshmallow firmware. Phone Arena stated that the list also include the HTC One M8 and M9; LG G3, G4, and G Stylo; Google Nexus 5, 6, 7, and 9; Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and 5, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5, S6, S6 edge, and S6 edge+, and the Galaxy Tab S2.
As to when the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will reach the LG V10 handsets under T-Mobile is not yet confirmed; but one thing is for sure, the Marshmallow is on its way.
