Following LG's announcement that G5 will make its first appearance on February 21, the Korea-based company confirmed, via their official Facebook page, that the it will feature an always on display.
It was in mid-January when a 'Save The Date' invite has surfaced, indicating that LG Electronics would hold a press event a day before the MWC wherein its next flagship handset might debut. If this is certainly the G5 just like what everyone expects, the smartphone could go on sale as early as March.
LG has already confirmed through a social networking site that the company will indeed be launching the LG G5 on February 21. It tweeted an image in gif form with the caption: "Time to play! With new friends, comes new fun. The excitement begins in Barcelona on February 21st!"
Furthermore, another piece of information about the LG G5 has surfaced. Neurogadget stated on its article that the company has once again confirmed something about the LG G5- the "Always ON" display element. This statement is reportedly official as it has been posted on the company's official Facebook page.
This type of render was revealed on the smartphone's display and it stated the following "Never go asleep while others do. LG G5, Always ON," which is pretty much understandable. Nevertheless, it could be remembered that Samsung also created the "Always On Mode" at the USPTO that was held not so long ago. With this, fans of the South Korean tech company should expect the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge model to carry a similar feature.
Android Headlines cited other predicted features that might be present in the LG G5. This handset might sport a 5.3-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, together with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM and more than one internal storage option. It will be powered by a 2,800mAh capacity battery and fueled by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU for graphics.
As for the camera, a 16-megapixel OIS shooter will be placed at the back of this phone, together with a Laser Autofocus, while an 8-megapixel snapper will be available up front. The smartphone's power or lock key will be positioned on the back of the device, and will double as a fingerprint scanner. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed here, and on top of it, users will find LG's custom UI.
With the release of LG G5 along with other flagship handsets from other smartphone manufacturers, a great competition in the smartphone arena is very much expected.
