In a recent interview, it seems as if Final Fantasy XV is set to be ramping up the nostalgia by adding Magitek Armor from the classical game, Final Fantasy VI. However, it's also revealed that anyone who gets too enthusiastic about setting their enemies on fire might find themselves a victim of their own enthusiasm.
The weekly issue of Jump magazine revealed some interesting tidbits of information regarding the game. Gematsu provided a magazine scan of the feature, which revealed additional information on the game. Noctis, the main character of the game, will be able sneak around enemy territories and to mount monsters to reduce its physical strength, and will also have the ability to attack from above via jumping. Magitek Armor will be making an appearance in the game, and apparently will be an enemy encounter.
Also, a glimpse of the magic mechanics of the game was revealed, but not one most fans are expecting. From an image in the magazine, it appears as if using Fire magic on a grassy plains will cause the grass to catch fire and burn everything in the area, allies, enemies and the player included.
An Active Time Report, which is a dedicated interview segment which provides more information about the game, is scheduled this Saturday, on January 30. The PlayStation LifeStyle blog reports that the upcoming Active Time Report will be hosted by Game Director Hajime Tabata and Global Marketing Director Akio Ofuji. The ATR will provide more details on the warmongering Niflheim empire, and showcase the latest battle footage, as well as magic. The ATR will reportedly elaborate on the March release of the game. The PlayStation LifeStyle post also provides higher quality screenshots of the images in the magazine, complete with descriptions.
The Square Enix Presents YouTube channel have hosted multiple ATRs regarding the game in the past. Highlights of past ATRs, previously recorded from gaming conventions last year, include an elaboration on the chocobo and fishing mechanics, background information for the game's settings, and the occasional Q&A from fans. The upcoming ATR will start at 8pm PT/11pm ET and will be available on the channel that day.
The game is set to be released on March 2016, for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The game was originally made for the Playstation 3 and has previously been hampered by multiple delays before it was remade for the eight-generation consoles.
