'Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator' New DLC Character Revealed; Kum Haehyun's Moveset, Appearance in-game unveiled

By

The new DLC character for Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator has been revealed earlier this week, featuring a girl named Kum Haehyun piloting an articicial human suit that looks exactly like an elderly martial arts master. And now, more screenshots of the character have been released, featuring her moveset and how she appears in-game.

According to Famitsu (via Shoryuken) Kum Haehyun is a girl from a prestegious clan of "Tuners", who are the only people in the world who can control the flows of energy. She also acts as the head of the family, and fights by piloting the insides of a "humanoid artificial body" called Jonryoku Kum. Jonryoku Kum resembles a very muscular elderly man with a beard, and very much resembles an old martial arts master.

Siliconera comments that Kum Haehyun (using Konryoku Kum) seems to be able to execute special moves using the parameter, and that the Dust attack, which features a glowing writing character hovering at the screen, seems to have quite the range. A forceful clapping move is also featured in the screenshots, as well as the "damage" graphic which features Haehyun's face peeking out of Jonryoku Kum's mouth. Kum Haehyun, as a character, was said to be somewhat easy to control, which is a very uncommon for a character to be in the Guilty Gear franchise, and her movesets aim to be pretty straightforward - combining powerful blows and skill to create devastating combinations.

Gematsu confirms that Kum Haehyun will be available for free for early buyers. A product code to obtain her will be available in the first edition of the game. Kum Haehyun is not the only new character making an appearance, either, and the new game will feature new characters Johnny Sfondi, Jack-O, Jam Kuradoberi, and Dizzy.

Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator will release in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on May 26, 2016. A North America will be released sometime in spring this year.
