'Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur' will feature world-famous footballer and entrepreneur David Beckham in a small cameo as a Blackleg leader. Guy Ritchie admitted that he wants Beckham to continue working with him in new projects.

According to The Daily Mail, Beckham will make a small cameo in Guy Ritchie's latest reimagining of the classic tale of King Arthur. The English ex-football player will play the role of a Blackleg leader but there have been rumors of his part being expanded.

One insider revealed, "Beckham spent three days filming in Snowdonia, but Guy is considering having him back for reshoots and increasing his screen time... Guy now regrets not giving Becks more of a role in recent spy remake The Man From U.N.C.L.E. as he's an international box office draw."

In the remake of 1964's 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.' starring Henry Cavill and Alicia Vikander, Beckham cameos as a bespectacled projectionist. The director joked, 'When I was looking for someone for a cameo, how could I resist putting one of the most handsome and photographed men in the world into a pair of specs and hide him behind a large projector?"

According to the Inquisitr, Ritchie revealed his plans to bring in Beckham for more projects in the future. He expressed his satisfaction with Beckham's performance saying, "We've put him in Arthur, which we've just finished, and he was fabulous in that." He added, "We'll go steadily with David and see where that goes. He does enjoy [acting]."

The football star-turned-businessman previously admitted that he was "too stiff" for acting and had no interest in pursuing movie roles. Although Beckham never personally appeared on 2002's 'Bend It Like Beckham', he was in archived video footage. He went on to cameo in the 2005 film 'Goal!: The Dream Begins' as well as its sequels 'Goal! 2: Living The Dream' and 'Goal! 3: Taking On The World'.

Meanwhile, Ritchie's new film will feature Charlie Hunnam in the title role. According to Variety, the 47-year old director hinted that his 'Knights of the Table: King Arthur' will be entirely different from the original classic. Hunnam also expressed his enthusiasm for the new role saying, "I assume, and hope that I'm correct in the assumption, it's far and away the best thing I've ever been a part of... I came away every day feeling really inspired about the work."

'Knights of the Table: King Arthur' is an upcoming action-adventure and drama film directed by Guy Ritchie based on a screenplay by Joby Harold. It stars Hunnam, Jude Law, Katie McGrath, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Eric Bana, Djimon Hounsou and Annabelle Wallis among others. It is scheduled to be released on March 24, 2017.
