There a lot of smartphone makers who are working hard to deliver the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Being one, Huawei has stated the beta testing of the Marshmallow OS to its Ascend Mate7. Meanwhile, the P8lite is also expected to obtain the firmware upgrade soon.
According to MobiPicker, Huawei is looking for tech enthusiasts who are willing to beta test their Ascend Mate7 handsets. But before joining, they have to take note of the requirements for being a beta tester.
Firstly, their Mate7 should be the MT7-L09 or the MT7-TL10 model to qualify for the beta update. They also have to back-up all the data before installing, so if things went wrong they won't be losing their stuff in the process.
Android Authority added that the qualified beta tester's handset needs to be running the latest B331 firmware that has been released just a couple of weeks ago.
Additionally, if the user is interested in giving some feedback, they could send an email off to mate7betatest1@huawei.com. They just have to include their phone's IMEI number, which can be found by typing *#06# into your dialer; and the current firmware version of their handsets, which is found in About Phone under the settings menu.
If the user's attempt is successful, Huawei will send out a reply and users will be seeing an OTA update notification in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Morning News USA stated on its article that the company will also release this update to P8lite soon. It is reported that the Chinese tech company will also start testing the beta version of the program on its P8lite handset in Europe. Based on a post found in a social networking site, the Romanian division of the company has started looking for around 100 people to become beta testers for the update.
Nevertheless, not all P8lite users will qualify. Only those with unlocked handsets are entitled to join the testing. The company also made it clear that P8lite devices running on custom software through a mobile operator will not be entertained. Furthermore, users should check in frequently for additional details and schedules of the update release.
Applications for the beta testing are open only until January 22nd 2016, so users who are interested should get those emails sent off. Android 6.0 Marshmallow should be heading out to other Mate 7 customers in the next few months.
