The 2016 Samsung Galaxy A series which includes A3, A5 and A7 has gone on sale in China. Recently, these handsets were also made available for pre-order in Europe. However, there is still no confirmation about the shipping date.
According to Tech Times, Samsung Electronics released three budget friendly handsets December last year. Despite the low prices of the recently unveiled smartphones, all of them are armed with an edgy metal-and-glass build with powerful specs underneath the chassis.
Recently, through Mobile Fun, the British patrons of the South Korean smartphone maker can obtain more details about these handsets. They can even have one on their hands as the unlocked Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 or Galaxy A7 (2016) are now available for pre-orders.
Specifications and features wise, the first device which is the new Galaxy A3 (2016) sports a slightly bigger screen that features the same 720p visuals. From 4.5-inch screen size it has increased to 4.7 inches. The Galaxy A3 (2016) also carries a significant improvement over its predecessor which is the main camera. This handset is now armed with a 13-megapixel shooter compared to the 8-megapixel snapper of its predecessor. As for the operating system, the Galaxy A3 (2016) is running on Android Lollipop.
International Business Times cited some of the specifics that the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) have. This handset features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (424 ppi pixel density). The Galaxy A5 (2016) is engineered with an octa-core processor clocking at 1.6 GHz and is running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
It also arrived with 16GB internal storage that is expandable up to 128GB through microSD card. It is armored with a 2 GB RAM, a 13-MP main camera with f/1.9 and OIS and 5MP front-snapper. The Galaxy A5 (2016) is powered with a non-removable Li-Ion 2,900mAh battery.
For the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), it has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). Under its chassis is an octa-core processor clocking 1.6GHz, 16 GB internal memory that can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card, and a 3 GB RAM. As for the camera, it sports a 13-MP main camera with f/1.9 and OIS and 5-MP front-snapper. This handset is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3300mAh capacity battery.
When it comes to the pricing, Android Headlines stated that the Galaxy A3 has been tagged at £269 on MobileFun in the UK and at €306.31 on Idealo in Germany. For the Samsung Galaxy A5, it can be pre-ordered at £319 in the UK, while those in Germany will have to spend out €396.17 to have one on their hands. The Galaxy A7, on the other hand, is currently not listed on the website of the German online retailer, but in UK MobileFun is asking for £399 to the consumers who want to pre-order.
As for the shipping date of the Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 (2016), there is still no available information.
