Both of smartphone makers Samsung Electronics and Xiaomi are bound to unveil its flagship handsets this year. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Xiaomi Mi5 are slated to rival each other once both devices hit the market shelves soon.

The upcoming smartphone of Xiaomi is rumored to sport a 5.2 inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It may also implement the 3D touch technology with pressure sensitive display. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7, will be releasing two variants. The flat screened version shall feature a 5.2 inch display screen and for the curved screen one shall sport a 5.7 inch display. Both variants shall be armed with a new Clear Touch pressure sensitive technology.
Both handsets are speculated to be engineered with Snapdragon processors, most likely Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. The Xiaomi Mi5 might additionally have an Adreno 530 GPU. Samsung Galaxy S7 will power its devices in the U.S. and China with the Snapdragon chipset, and those in Korea, Japan, Europe with its in-house 64-bit octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC .
Based on some rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S7 might be armed with a 23-MP primary camera that features the new IMX300 sensor developed by Sony. It was noted to have received high ratings from all review websites. Xiaomi Mi5 in contrary will be packed with a 16-MP primary and enhanced 8-MP front-facing snapper.
As for the battery capacity, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is likely to have a battery of 2550 mAH whereas Xiaomi Mi5 may sport a 3,303 mAH battery.
Tech Times reported that the 32 GB Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be tagged at around 699 and 799 EUR, or $752 and $859 in the U.S. The smartphones are expected to be released shortly after their February 21 event.
On the other hand, Android Community stated on its article that the formerly leaked price details have the Xiaomi Mi 5 at the equivalent of $310 and $390 US dollars, but these prices are not yet confirmed.
As for the device's release, rumors have pointed towards an early 2016 launch for the Mi 5. This has now been confirmed by one of Xiaomi's co-founders, Li Wanqiang, on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo. As of the moment, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is in mass production for a launch following Chinese New Year on February 8.
As usual, both companies are keeping the secrecy of their upcoming handsets as tight as possible. Users will have to rely on Samsung Galaxy S7 and Xiaomi Mi 5's features on the rumor mill to weigh which smartphone is the right one for them. This is only temporary though; until both companies give the official details of the aforementioned devices.
