'Hail, Caesar!' is reportedly written for and inspired by the real-life Hollywood fixer Eddie Mannix. Josh Brolin is set to portray the on-screen counterpart of Mr. Mannix. The film is scheduled to premiere in the UK at the Glasgow Film Festival on February.

According to The New York Times, the upcoming film by the Coen filmmaking duo, Ethan and Joel Coen, is inspired by the real-life Hollywood fixer Mr. Eddie Mannix. The real Joseph Edgar Allen John Mannix was a film studio executive and producer in charge of protecting his Hollywood clients' private lives from tabloids among others. He also worked for every Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film produced between the years 1924 through 1948 before succumbing to a heart attack at the age of 72.

Mr. Mannix is portrayed on the big-screen by Josh Brolin, according to Straits Times. Brolin is joined by an ensemble cast made up of Scarlett Johansson, George Clooney, Channing Tatum, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Chrisopher Lambert among others. It is set in the Hollywood's Golden Age of film.

The film follows Eddie Mannix, a Hollywood fixer, who helps in the production of a new Roman epic film 'Hail, Caesar!' starring Clooney's Baird Whitlock. Events take a turn for the comedic when Baird is kidnapped by a mysterious group named The Future. Mannix is tasked at retrieving the missing actor and collecting a hefty $100,000 ransom.

Another article by The Independent reported that the film is set to premiere in UK's Glasgow Film Festival on February 17 following its debut at the Berlin Film Festival on February 11. Glasgow Film Festival's co-director Allison Gardner said, "We like to open the festival with something special to build audience excitement for the fortnight of films to come, and Hail, Caesar! is as big and beautiful a film as you can get." Gardner added that they are delighted and "especially privileged" to be hosting the film's UK premiere.

'Hail, Caesar!' is an upcoming comedy-musical film directed, written and produced by the Coen brothers. It is slated to premiere in the United States on February 5, 2016. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are co-producing while Robert Graf is executive producing.
