'Aquaman' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film starring Jason Momoa as the titular superhero. Amber Heard is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros. to play Momoa's on-screen love interest Mera. The character is set to debut in 2017's 'The Justice League'.

According to Science Fiction, Amber Heard is currently in negotiations to join the new cast of DC's new standalone film starring Jason Momoa as the titular king of the seven seas. It was previously announced that Warner Bros. and DC was looking for a non-white female actress to play Queen Mera, Aquaman's love interest, in the upcoming live-action adaptation but it seems that the studio is looking to cast Heard instead.

The 29-year old Hollywood bombshell burst through tinsel town with her roles in 'Pineapple Express' and 'Never Back Down'. She went on to star in 'The Informers', 'Zombieland', 'Drive Angry' and 'The Rum Diary'. Her latest projects include 'Magic Mike XXL' with Channing Tatum, 'The Danish Girl' with Eddie Redmayne and 'London Fields' with Billy Bob Thornton.

Another article by Coming Soon reported that Queen Mera is set to make her on-screen debut in Zack Snyder's 'The Justice League Part One' that is set to begin production in April this year. The film is scheduled to be released in November 2017. The fictional undersea queen created by Jack Miller and Nick Cardy first appeared in the comic book Aquaman #11 and is well-known for her superhuman strength and powers.

According to MTV.com, fan reception for the possible casting of Heard as Mera was quite positive. People took to Twitter to voice out their excitement with one providing a fan-made poster of the actress as the warrior queen. There has been no official confirmation of her casting as of the present.

'Aquaman' is an upcoming science-fiction adventure film scheduled to be released on July 27, 2018. It will be directed by James Wan based on a screenplay by David Johnson. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder and Zack Snyder will serve as producers.
