'Deadpool' released a new television spot that contained more footage than previous cuts. It featured Colossus getting more action alongside Ryan Reynold's titular snarky superhero. Meanwhile, a new petition has been launched regarding the release of a friendlier PG-13 version of the standalone film.
According to Superherohype, Colossus joined Deadpool in more action scenes in the longer television spot boasting "5% more footage". The new teaser was released on January 17 during the NFL playoffs between the Green Bay Packer and the Arizona Cardinals.
Stefan Kapicic plays mutant Piotr "Peter" Rasputin a.k.a. Colossus in the upcoming 'Deadpool' live-action adaptation. The character is well-known for his ability to transform his body into a full armor of organic steel. He also has superhuman durability, strength, and stamina.
Ryan Reynolds, who plays the titular merc with a mouth, admitted that the upcoming film is very personal to him. According to Games Radar, Reynolds said, "I know what I can put on screen, and I know what I've put on screen is something that would make any fanboy proud... All anyone cares about in this process is making Deadpool work as much for the fanboys as it does for the uninitiated... I can't wait to unleash it. We're so, so psyched. You're definitely going to be happy, that much I can promise.""
The film had been tagged as R-rated by the MPAA for extreme violence and sexual themes. However, a new petition calling for 20th Century Fox to put together a separate PG-13 version has emerged.
According to Comic Book Resources, the petition was created by Grace Randolph, host of YouTube shows 'Beyond the Trailer' and 'Think About Ink', after receiving a letter from a fan. Randolph figured that it Fox can make separate green and red-band trailers for the films, it must be possible for them to make an alternative kid-friendly cut of the actual film. The petition over at Change.org currently has 2,954 out of the needed 5,000 supporters as of writing.
