VDO Games is bringing its 2D run-'n'-gun platformer Cally's Caves 3 to PC after releasing it on iOS and Android. Gamers can play the role as the titular Cally, explore dungeons and look for Cally's parents, who have been abducted by Cally's archnemesis, Herbert.
The original Cally's Caves 3 was released on July 2015 for Android and iOS, with a steady support from its fanbase throughout the months. And quite recently, the game was Greenlighted on Steam, and was finally released on January 5, 2016. A Steam page for the game is now available, with the full features list and the requirements to run it.
The gameplay is similar between the two platforms: Players take the role of Cally and explore over 300 dungeons across 10 zones, and can play as Cally's friend, Bera the ninka bear, who is used to navigate and solve some of the more difficult puzzles of the game. The gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of the Megaman series, or perhaps Cave Story: players jump and navigate among many difficult levels, shoot down enemies and unlock new abilities and weapons.According to Siliconera, the weapons in this game can be upgraded the more they are used throughout the game, and they can be used to interact with the stages and demolish obstacles players will encounter. The game also features a New Game+ mode and a Survival Mode where the player have to survive waves of monsters.
The gameplay is a pretty straighforward platformer where you explore and clear areas by running and jumping, while avoiding enemies along the way. Tgame world is accessible from a main map that can be brought up at any time, and areas are divided into 10 zones, each with a different theme. As players progress through each stage, checkpoints are triggered, which would let the player revisit any area that was previously cleared. The game is available on Steam, with a Deluxe Edition featuring a full soundtrack of the game available as well. Currently, the PC edition only runs on Windows, with no news whether the game will be made compatible for Mac or Linux.
