Fable Legends' Open Beta To Be Delayed For 2016

By

It seems as though the Fable Legends Open Beta will be delayed, and will not be available until the spring of 2016.

On Monday, December 14 2015, the official Fable Legends website released a blog post along with a short video where they apologized for the delay of the open beta, expressing regret over not fulfilling their promise of a holiday deadline. The team have also admitted in the video that "To be honest, we didn't anticipate just how big Fable Legends is becoming(...) and it's taking more time than we thought."

However, they revealed that this is not all in vain. Lionhead Studios has said that they have been working on a ton of new content for the game, including a new world and a new story for players to experience, as well as new features and quests, and they plan on implementing as much as they can before the open beta release.

At this point, it's known that the game will be based around four Heroes and a Villain, according to Parent Herald. During each quest, the four Hero characters must use teamwork to succeed in their objectives, while the Villain player opposes them with an army of creatures acting as their minions. Each role may be filled by a player via online multiplayer or by an AI, meaning that players will still possibly be able to have the same gameplay experience whether they're playing on multiplayer or single player. All of the game's story and quests can be played single player, using AI heroes as sidekicks or enemies. What's more is that it's possible to play through the game's content as either a Hero or as a Villain, which can widen the variety of gameplay.

Fable Legends is the latest installment of the Fable series, and the game will be free-to-play and will support cross-play between Xbox One and Windows PC players when it launches next year. The closed beta is still up, and people who wish to sign up can do so over at their main website, FableLegends.com .
