Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update For Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Released

By

It was nine months ago when Google has released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. Now, Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Note 4 finally obtains the software upgrade.

According to GottaBeMobile, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update started rolling out on devices all the way back in April of last year. Despite its age, the Android 5.1.1 firmware is still the most current version of Google's last operating system, Android 5 Lollipop.

Samsung Electronics has released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrades to devices like the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4. Though it's already 2016 now, the roll out is still continuing. Verizon Wireless has started rolling out its Android 5.1.1 update to its Galaxy Note 4. It's one of the few stragglers in the U.S. and an update that many Verizon Galaxy Note 4 owners have been waiting for.

Furthermore, Ubergizmo added that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop that is now rolling out for Verizon's Galaxy Note 4 has a software version of LMY47X.N910VVRU2BOK3. This Lollipop update brings support for Android for Work, upgrades to the Samsung Knox security platform and removes a couple of preloaded applications.

Android Authority stated the manual way of checking if the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is already available for the Note 4 handsets. Just like before, the update will arrive OTA but the impatient users can manually check by going to Settings > About phone > Software update to check manually. Seeing the length of time it took Verizon to deliver the update out, users can at least expect that there are no bugs, battery drain or memory leak problems to worry about.

Although it took quite some time for Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, this could be an indication that the device will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade soon. But it is still not known as to when it will obtain the newest update as it depends not just on the manufacturer but also the carrier.
