LG Electronics is one of the smartphone manufacturers that are working hard on bringing up the Android 6.0 and 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to its bunch of handsets. Finally, the LG G4, LG V10, LG Nexus 5X, LG Flex 2, LG G3 and LG G2 devices are slated to receive the newest update from Google soon.
According to GottaBeMobile, LG has been the fastest to provide the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its smartphones. In October, the firmware arrived in Poland, just over two weeks after Google released the software, and it has gradually arrived for the popular LG G4 in India, Korea, and parts of the UK. Selected U.S owners have seen it come as well recently.
International Business Times reported that users of LG V10, LG G4, LG G3, LG Flex 2, and LG G Stylo will be the first ones over other LG smartphones to obtain the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. In fact, the LG G4 users have already obtained it.
The roll out of the update first began in South Korea in October and was then released to users in Poland, and selected parts in the US, Asia and Europe. The update brings software enhancements such as Memo Capture+ and LG AirDrive. Both are renamed versions of LG Q+ and LG Bridge apps, respectively.
The Android 6.0 update is currently available for LG V10 smartphones as well. However, since it is the flagship smartphone from the firm with unmatched specs; it is likely to receive the latest Android 6.0.1 build soon.
The LG G Flex 2 on the other hand, is another handset that has been released with flagship specs during the start of 2015. However, users of this phone are still waiting to receive Android 6.0 upgrade.
Additionally, LG G Stylo users on Sprint have started receiving LS770ZV7 Android 6.0 update in the last week of December 2015 while LG G3 owners in Poland received Android 6.0 upgrade last month. The update is slowly being released to LG G3 users in other countries as well.
As for the LG G2 smartphones, there is still no confirmation whether this device will be receiving the Android M update.
Meanwhile, when it comes to the Android 6.0.1 update, Neurogadget stated on its article that the LG G3, LG G4, LG G Stylo, LG V10 and LG Flex 2 will soon obtain the OTA update. LG Electronics is expected to release this software upgrade after the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be available for a good amount of devices that is mentioned above.
As of the moment, the LG Nexus 5X is currently the only handset from the company to have obtained the Android 6.0.1 upgrade. It is not a major update though, as it only brings along 200+ emojis and improved performance.
Since it has been confirmed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be rolling out on a bunch of LG handsets, it is anticipated that the above mentioned handsets will also be eligible for the Android 6.0.1 OS. But as of the moment, there is no confirmed schedule yet as to when these gadgets will obtain the minor update.
