Final Fantasy 9 Coming to PC, iOS and Android Devices Early 2016; Minimum System Requirements Revealed

Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy 9 will finally arrive to PC and mobile devices such as Android and iOS Early 2016. The game developer has also provided the details on each of the platforms' minimum system requirements in order to run the game on their respective systems.

The game's official website confirmed Final Fantasy 9 is "coming soon" to PC, iOS and Android platforms. It also listed the operating systems and devices for its mobile version as detailed below:

iOS

Operating System: iOS 7.0 or later

Recommended Devices:

iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus

iPad (4th Generation), iPad Air, iPad Air 2

iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4

iPad touch (6th generation)

Android

Operating System: Android 4.1 or later

It notes, however, that the game may not operate on certain android devices. Additionally, the game developer cannot guarantee proper performance on devices other than those listed above and they suggest that those who want to download the game are encouraged to confirm their device model before downloading the app.

For PC gamers, Steam website listed the minimum and recommended for Windows platform.

    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz or higher
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS or ATI Radeon HD4650 or higher
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 20 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectSound® compatible sound card(DirectX®9.0c or later)

    • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (32bit / 64bit)
    • Processor: Core i5 2520 2.5GHz or better
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 20 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectSound® compatible sound card(DirectX®9.0c or later)

According to Euro Gamer, the Steam release of Final Fantasy 9" will be offering seven game boosters including high speed and no encounter modes. It means that players can turn off random encounters which is said to be "one of the biggest bugbears of old JRPGs."

It is not yet clear, though, if the said feature will also be available for the game's mobile releases and there is no word as to the exact date of launching as the website only said that the release date will be "early 2016."

Final Fantasy 9 was originally released in 2000 for the original Sony PlayStation selling 5 million copies worldwide.
