The Big Bang Theory has proven itself yet again as one of the best television shows our generation has ever seen. The Chuck Lorre-produced comedy has won at this year’s People'sChoice Awards held at Los Angeles on Wednesday. In other developments, Jane Squibb has joined Season 9 to portray the role of Sheldon’s grandma.

The cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory bagged another well-deserved award this week. The Wall Street Journal reported that the show won the top TV show category at the People's Choice Awards. Hosted by Glee alum Jane Lynch, fans also voted Paul Walker’s last big screen offering, Furious 7, as their favorite movie.

Other highlights from the event include the awarding of Ellen DeGeneres as favorite daytime TV host, while also receiving a humanitarian award.

In other Big Bang news, Entertainment Weekly has learned that the hit comedy will finally introduce Sheldon’s meemaw in an upcoming episode. June Squibb will play Sheldon Cooper’s (Jim Parsons) never-before-seen grandmother who became popular from Sheldon’s stories about his childhood.

It’s still being kept as a secret as to what brings Sheldon’s meemaw to Pasadena. But it has been confirmed that she will be appearing in an episode airing next month.
Squibb, who’s an Academy Award nominee, previously appeared as a guest star on CBS’ Mom and Black Code.

The Big Bang Theory returned with an all new episode this week. Titled “The Sales Call Sublimation”, the half hour episode found Leonard and Penny talking to a therapist. Interestingly, Leonard was able to deal with his past issues rooted from his overbearing mother. Penny, on the other hand, ranted about Leonard’s childish ways – which according to her, transformed her personality of someone like his bullying mother.

Vulture wrote the recap in a report.

The Big Bang Theory airs every Thursday at 8PM on CBS.
